We arrived at the airport at 9:30, and it took almost a full hour to get us through security. They had all sorts of issues with our baggage weights, with approving our passports, and with generally getting us through. Then, as we came through, they announced final boarding for our flight- and this was 50 minutes before it was scheduled to take off! We were in the air by 10:50 for a 11:35 flight. We suppose that since their system had shown that all passengers had arrived, they may as well take off early.
We arrived in Nanchang about 45 minutes ahead of schedule, and we were in the hotel by 3:00. They told us to come down at 4:00 to meet with the orphanage officials. We went up to our room to unpack, and five minutes later the phone rang that they had arrived and the babies were waiting! We grabbed a handful of things and rushed down to meet our Gracie. We were told there are three kinds of Chinese babies- happy babies, sad babies and serious babies. She definitely appears to be a serious baby.
She's a good eater though! Mary got her to take one and a half bottles total.
She cried for a bit, but Mary finally got her settled in... hopefully for the night.
So we're all safe and sound in Nanchang. Hope all of you are well.
